PAGCOR has fewer offshore gaming licenses, why profits are higher
I don’t know if you have noticed, but members of Congress expressed appreciation for PAGCOR’s efforts in reforming the offshore gaming industry. Despite issuing fewer licenses, PAGCOR will generate 71% more revenue from new Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs) in 2023 than it did from the previous POGO system in 2022. They have “changed the landscape” by eliminating dishonest players and ensuring that offshore gambling develops into a “controlled but contributing industry”.
This strategy actually advocates improved licensing and stronger enforcement, rather than shutting down companies completely. Will this be the case in the future?
