My Harrowing Experience Working for a Gaming Company in the Philippines
In May 2015, I was stranded in the Philippines due to visa issues. I wanted to find a job first, and I applied for a job at a company owned by a large gaming company, and it was located in the CBD Center Building in Manila. I went to work on May 23rd. I just started working 5 days off and 2 days off. But after a few days, the person in charge said that my working hours needed to be changed to 12 hours and I had to work 6 days off and 1 day off. However, these extra hours would be calculated as overtime pay. . As a novice, once I heard that there was overtime pay, I insisted on it. Thus began the hard days of 12 hours a day, the 2,000 yuan housing subsidy, and the cost of renting a house. I calculated that it was worse than the days when I had just graduated and worked in China. My only fantasy was the overtime pay. Not long after, the bad news started. I was transferred to the customer service department, and overtime pay was not included. I told HR that if I don't change my job, I won't get overtime pay. Moment speechless! ! !
