The Philippine Department of Finance is actually quite good, allowing POGO workers to transition to other jobs. Everyone knows that President Duterte has ordered the closure of POGO operations by the end of the year, leaving a group of workers unemployed. It's always the common people who suffer the most from such policies. However, it's reassuring to hear that there will be efforts to ensure that these unemployed Filipino workers will find new jobs, with opportunities for retraining and skill enhancement. It's uncertain, though, what their future income will look like. As one can imagine, the smaller gambling teams who lose their jobs might end up on the streets. Every policy is a double-edged sword, bringing joy to some and sorrow to others.
