I stayed in Turkey for a week, and the country is rich in cultural heritage. However, the cost of living in Turkey always seems to be crashing, making the travel costs really low. The entrance fees to attractions and the souvenirs are too cheap, which makes me feel a bit sorry for the local people. The coverage of English explanations at various attractions is very good, and overall it's very safe. Just like anywhere else, don't be too naive and get ripped off. You either fly or take a car on the road, and it's quite tiring for those who don't like traveling by car, which might negatively affect your experience.
