Exposure at Manila Airport: Security Colludes with Taxi Drivers to Rob Chinese Nationals! Everyone, be cautious!
A female traveler, along with her friend, flew from Jeju Island to Manila for a connecting flight. Unfamiliar with the local environment, they mistook an airport security guard in a vest for a police officer and asked him for help hailing a cab. Oddly, instead of flagging down a taxi on the street, the "officer" made a phone call and requested a taxi. Soon after, a taxi arrived. Trusting that the "officer" was legitimate, the girls boarded the taxi. However, partway through the journey, the driver revealed his true intentions. Without a word, he began to rob them, taking all their possessions including two mobile phones and wallets. After the robbery, he forced them out of the taxi and drove away.
