Today, let me tell you a story, just for fun:
The name is Lao Tie, located at B5, Mupai Jinxing Park. In February 2024, I met a sister on Facebook who invited me to Cambodia to work on office computers. Facing difficulties and burdened with debts, I agreed after a few days of her introduction. On the 15th, after arriving at the border, I had no passport and had to take an illegal route, bypassing several border checkpoints, which took about 30 minutes. Then I got on a vehicle and traveled for about 3 hours to reach the company.
Initially, the base salary was said to be $1,200, but after I joined the company, all the benefits and salary were different from what the recruiter had told me, and even the recruiter was another person using a fake ID who just needed to text me and invite me to work. The work environment was cramped, the manager was cruel, constantly yelling at him, and even dragged him into the meeting room to use an electric baton on him. Initially, it was said that he would work 10 hours a day, but in reality, it was 15-16 hours a day. I even tried to bring in 5 billion in revenue for the company in one month, but received no bonus.
My first month's salary turned out to be $400, far less than the initially stated $1,200. Some people couldn't handle it, being beaten five to seven times a day, and if that wasn't enough, they were sent for electric shocks, some were knocked out. They would splash water on them to wake them up, then continue working. If they couldn't work anymore, they were taken to another place, whereabouts unknown. This place was well-guarded. Every guard was equipped with guns and batons...
When I signed the contract, I remember it cost me 5 million, but through brokers and referral fees, my salary was $2,000 for people who had worked for 3 months. I couldn't stand it anymore and asked to go home, spending nearly 200 million in ransom sent from home to get back. Some people were unlucky, received money sent from home, and the company put them in a car and sold them to another company.

Not bad to be able to go back.

Top, with great relish
Everything else is fine, it's just that a 200 million ransom is a bit ridiculous.
Reply 贫民窟哆啦 : Cambodia uses the US dollar, doesn't it?
