A rape case occurred in the Boeung Keng Kang district of Phnom Penh on Wednesday, where a Chinese man attempted to rape a Cambodian woman working in a store. The victim subsequently reported the incident to the local police station, demanding the Chinese man pay $230,000 in compensation for emotional distress to settle and withdraw the lawsuit. However, the Chinese man was only willing to pay $3,000 for emotional distress. Negotiations between the two parties are still ongoing. If the victim has objections, the authorities will take legal action.
