"Avida Towers Makati West" Unscrupulous Property!!!

I have been renting my house to a Chinese tenant who has been regularly paying the water bill to the property management from 2021 to June 2023, and always received a receipt or invoice. However, from July 2023 to June 2024, the property management kept saying they had recorded the payments but failed to provide any receipt or invoice.

My tenant used to record videos or take photos every time they paid the water bill at the property management, and I have kept all these records. Around July 2024, the tenant moved out normally without any obstacles, and in August, a new tenant moved in and went to the property management to get a move-in and gate pass.

Then, something unbelievable happened. The property management accused me of not paying the water bills from July 2023 to July 2024! I was shocked and sent all the photos and videos of the tenant paying the water bill to my friends in the Philippines to help me communicate with the property management. They told me that the employee who had taken the payments had left the company, and demanded either an invoice or payment of the water bills, otherwise, they would not issue a move-in certificate for the new tenant.

I sought help from local friends and a lawyer, but to no avail. In the end, I had no choice but to settle the water bills, which amounted to 18,000 pesos for the year. After some negotiation, I paid 15,000 pesos, and the issue was finally resolved. I just want to say that these people in the Philippines are really taking every chance to exploit us. I want to remind my fellow Chinese in the Philippines, always make sure to get a receipt or invoice when you pay any fees at the property management. Don't give them any chance to exploit us Chinese anymore!
