The Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) jointly executed a mission order, arresting six suspects inside a rental apartment at Trillo Bay Villas, who were former employees of TeleEmpire Incorporated. In cooperation, the BI and SBMA apprehended six undocumented Chinese nationals on December 12, 2024, at Trillo Bay Villas. The BI and SBMA executed a mission order together, arresting six suspects inside a rental apartment at Trillo Bay Villas, who were employees of TeleEmpire Incorporated. Immigration officials stated that the arrested suspects were informed of their constitutional rights under RA7438 "in a language and manner they could fully understand." Melvin Varias, the head of the Office of the Deputy Executive for Legal Affairs and the manager of the Department of Labor, stated that these six individuals were among the 57 Chinese nationals who had worked for TeleEmpire Incorporated, a recognized backend solution provider during their tenure at the Subic Bay Freeport. Of the 57 Chinese nationals who worked there, six returned to their homeland, while 51 remain unaccounted for. Of these 51 missing individuals, 20 were arrested during a raid on a house used as an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) facility in Calayan. The recently arrested six were among these 51 missing employees. Lawyer Varias added that the agency and the Bureau of Immigration are closely coordinating to ensure that all undocumented Chinese nationals working for the company are registered and recorded.
