Thai police, based on reports from citizens, discovered 14 Chinese nationals sharing a room in a hotel in a central city and initiated an arrest operation.
According to the Thai news website Khaosod, the Thai immigration police detained these 14 individuals in Samut Prakan Province. Nine men were charged for violating immigration laws, six were prosecuted for illegal entry, and three were charged for overstaying. The remaining five, including four men and one woman, were confirmed to have legal residency.
Sumet Chenwongpitak, the head of the Immigration Office in Samut Prakan, stated that after receiving reports of suspicious activities involving multiple Chinese nationals living together in a hotel, he immediately instructed an investigation. According to the investigation, these individuals had previously worked in Myanmar for fraud groups or telephone scam organizations. Due to increased crackdowns by the Myanmar government, they chose to flee to Thailand.
This case occurred against the backdrop of Thai authorities intensifying scrutiny of illegal immigrants. Recently, after Chinese actor Wang Xing encountered a "film crew scam" in Thailand, the confidence of Chinese tourists in traveling to Thailand significantly declined. Many tourists adjusted their Chinese New Year travel plans, opting for other destinations, leading to more than a 150% increase in flight cancellations to Thailand.
To rebuild tourist confidence, Thai authorities have promised to fully protect the safety and legal rights of Chinese citizens in Thailand and have introduced a systematic travel safety guide.
Panumas Boonyalak, the head of the Thai Immigration Bureau, has requested all immigration units to strengthen monitoring of illegal foreign activities and urged the public to report suspicious behaviors through the immigration hotline 1178.
Meanwhile, the Thai National Police announced the establishment of a "Tourist Safety Action Center" to comprehensively coordinate national police and tourist police bureaus, creating a systematic tourist safety management system. The police also launched the "Thailand Tourist Police" mobile application, through which tourists can send messages, photos, and locations for consultation, reporting, or seeking help.

The Hong Kong police have been monitoring these individuals for a long time, and combating fraud can only rely on Hong Kong.

Very satisfying!
Well caught
Damn good catch, even scammers think they have the right.

Everywhere is being checked.
Thailand's compatriots, are you panicked?
It's really embarrassing.
