On January 16, the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group successfully arrested two kidnappers after receiving a report from a female victim.
The victim, a 22-year-old Chinese woman, told authorities that she met two fellow Chinese through a social media app on January 7, and was picked up by them at the NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City, Manila, where she was subsequently kidnapped.
During her captivity, the victim reported that she was threatened with a gun by the kidnappers, blindfolded, and forced to reveal her phone password. The kidnappers then transferred approximately 738,516 RMB from her account. Unsatisfied, they also forced her to take out a loan of twenty thousand US dollars.
Additionally, she was forced to strip naked and was photographed. After their release on January 9, the kidnappers continuously blackmailed her with the nude photos, leading the victim to seek help from the Philippine police due to the unbearable harassment.
The two suspects have now been transferred to the AKG headquarters for processing and will face multiple criminal charges.
