My friend Alo was detained at the airport during departure and has been sent to an immigration detention center.
My friend was on the POGO list and traveled to Thailand in October after getting his visa reduced. He then re-entered with a tourist visa processed in Thailand.
After the tourist visa expired, he couldn't get an extension or switch to a work visa. The agency told him to wait for policy changes, and during this waiting period, his visa expired. Before leaving, he checked and found he was on the Alo list but not yet blacklisted. So, he thought he should leave the country quickly.
He thought he could just handle the ECC and the overdue fines at the airport and leave, but he was directly detained by the immigration authorities at customs because he was on the POGO list, and now his overdue departure has become illegal.
Please ask everyone if there is any way to get him out and how much it might cost.
