I am Taiwanese, sharing some of my work gossip from the Philippines!!

I previously served in a certain L●J company in the Philippine gaming (BC) industry, which is called S●T●X●S in Taiwan. I'm writing this article to share some experiences, though I'm not a great writer, but there are many issues I hope to discuss with everyone.

The purpose of this article is not to compare which company is worse than yours. People are risking their lives (you read that right) to work in the gaming industry abroad, and yet silently giving away their rights, so let's not stick to the mentality that "everyone does it". Just because everyone turns right on a red light, does it make it legal?

Therefore, this discussion is based on the basic rights of Taiwanese workers, discussing what sacrifices and risks are made while earning a salary in the Philippine gaming industry... First of all, these companies will claim they are technology companies, or gaming companies, and they are open, fair, and legal... but they won't tell you...

False issues

Annual leave cannot be cashed out, and local holidays are only granted according to statutory holidays, so you don't get Philippine special holidays, including Chinese holidays, because you are in the Philippines. And if you ask about labor insurance, pensions, health insurance, or other holidays, they will just say: you earn more abroad, so it's normal to sacrifice benefits. Anyway, the company always explains things in a way that benefits them the most, always placing itself in a position to harshly treat employees.

The company's administrative efficiency and quality are poor

Besides withholding passports, they also delay wages and ignore procurement requests, especially passports, which often become a condition for difficult demands; strangely, it's my property, and I need your permission to use it? Don't talk to me about financial risks, you're putting the gambling risks on the employees? I find this unacceptable.

Bank cards will be taken back

As a gambling company, bank cards represent a tool for money laundering, and nowadays, all countries strictly prohibit money laundering. Therefore, there are many restrictions when applying for a bank account. Today, your gambling company opens an account in the employee's name, and then when the employee leaves, they say the bank card is company property and even deduct from your salary?? Strange... the name on it is my personal account, when did it become company property?

During the employment period, only the work visa time is counted, not the time outside of the work visa

So before you get your work visa, you are not considered an employee of the company, and of course, your time is consumed in proving this. You tell me about a temporary work visa? It's just an extension of a travel visa, and many companies don't even handle it, so before you get a work visa, you are all illegal workers, and they can do whatever they want with you at work, all at their own discretion, and if something happens, the company can preemptively accuse you of deceiving the company.

You are a Local Hire!!!!

When a Taiwanese company hires you, you can only think of it as being found through 104, and you should not misunderstand that you are an "expatriate" of the Taiwanese company, but they will nicely say you are an "expatriate". Expatriates have work records with Taiwanese companies, Local Hire means you are unemployed in Taiwan!!!

Before you get your work visa, you are an illegal worker!!!

The Taiwanese within the company will convince new employees that you are here legally, everyone else is doing the same. Just before you get your work visa, if there's an inspection, just run and hide. Now I'm curious, why hide if it's legal? Can't you use a business visit before getting a work visa?

No one will tell you about the dangers of this job

Gambling is legal in the Philippines, yes, but in recent years there have been many voices reviewing online gambling locally, and no one knows what will happen next, just like when White Beach said there would be a half-year island closure, everyone thought it was fake. If you go, remember to pray (but even God doesn't play dice anymore, will he protect you??), pray that your company has paid its protection fees well, and that the "political-business" relationship can be maintained for a long time. Otherwise, the next time a gambling company is raided, I hope your name is not on the "deportation to China" list.

Hmm? This has quite a bit of gossip~

Company salary deterioration

The salary for Taiwanese in the Philippines has been decreasing year by year, from 15,000 RMB to 8,000 RMB, and even 6,000 RMB... about a 1,000 RMB reduction per year, and due to stricter mainland regulations, the gambling processes and risks underground are only getting tougher. Most local gambling HR and executives still think this is too high, directly saying that Taiwan used to be 22,000 TWD, and it could be reduced further.

Professionalism is worthless

Because most are mainland nouveau riche, as long as they trust you, whether you are professional or dedicated is not within their consideration, so people who can talk are actually more popular than those who can work, this is even more severe than in Taiwan, so don't think you can find a place for yourself if you are simply naive.

The dark room

In this gray area, this is inevitable, it's not just a room, but a behavior, where the basic instincts of humanity erupt once the door is closed, basically every gambling company has this situation.

You're considered good, we used to work directly without a work visa in the Arab-style villas.

Let me put it this way, including you, everyone who couldn't make it domestically went abroad. Are you still expecting these companies to meet the standards of ByteDance?

When he was hiring, he didn't promise this, you know.

You think these are professional companies? This place is full of nouveau riche making quick money; there's really not that much planning, okay?

I agree that eloquent speakers often have more opportunities than capable individuals.

Many companies claim to offer good benefits but fail to deliver, indeed this is the case.

When the Philippines was still hot, why didn't you post it? Only dare to post after people leave and the tea cools.

When you joined the company, you signed an agreement, so complaining afterwards is not very meaningful.
