The Philippine police recently cracked a kidnapping case, successfully rescuing a 29-year-old Chinese man at the SM Aura mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and arresting two suspects on the spot.
The incident occurred at 2:30 AM on January 20th, when the victim was kidnapped by four unidentified individuals in Makati City. He was forcibly taken into a black SUV and detained at a secret location. During this period, the victim was not only abused but also threatened with his life. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 60,000 RMB from the victim's family, who paid 49,000 RMB, but the kidnappers did not release the hostage as promised. With no other options, the victim's family sought help from the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and officially reported the case to the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) on January 23rd.
After the police intervened and started an investigation, they were able to pinpoint the kidnappers' location through clues exposed during a video call. With the cooperation of the management at SM Aura mall, the police conducted a rescue operation, successfully freeing the victim and capturing two Chinese suspects on the spot. The police found several casino membership cards on the suspects, bearing their photos and relevant information.
Currently, both the victim and the suspects have been taken to the PNP-AKG headquarters in Quezon City for further investigation. The police stated that the charging documents are being prepared, and the case will be processed according to the law.
