On Monday afternoon, law enforcement in the Philippines raided the basement of a hotel in Pasay City, uncovering an underground online gambling den allegedly involved in POGO operations!
During the operation, agents from PAOCC, BI, and CIDG entered the hotel basement and arrested six Koreans who were operating computers for gambling-related activities. Authorities are currently conducting further investigations to determine if any Filipino employees were also involved.
A Filipino woman who accidentally entered the site revealed that her job was merely to copy and paste on the computer, and she had only been employed for a month, unaware of the full situation.
According to PAOCC Deputy Minister Gilbert Cruz, the POGO operation involved financial transactions amounting to billions of pesos, a staggering amount.
So far, the hotel management has not issued any statement regarding the raid, and the case is still under further investigation.
