On February 14th, according to Thai media reports, Major General Tachachai, the Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the National Anti-Human Trafficking Center, stated that the Thai police have collaborated with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to establish a specialized team to combat online fraud and human trafficking crimes.
Regarding the relocation of a telecommunications fraud group from Myawaddy in Myanmar to Poipet in Cambodia, Tachachai mentioned that the Royal Thai Police have implemented seven crime-fighting measures and achieved significant results. These measures will continue to be promoted in other countries in the future.
Tachachai also stated that the police are identifying and confirming the identities of criminals and victims through the national referral mechanism and strict investigation procedures. Additionally, the police will integrate information from various embassies with the database of the Royal Thai Police to track and verify cross-border criminal activities.
