Customs authorities in another raid at a warehouse in Taguig City discovered luxury cars worth about 900 million pesos.
Customs Commissioner Bien Rubio stated in a declaration on Thursday that the latest operation by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service - Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP) on Wednesday uncovered 44 smuggled luxury cars, including Ferraris, Maseratis, and Rolls-Royces.
"The intelligence department of the customs bureau has been highly vigilant against smuggling activities, but I still want to commend this series of actions, which have led to these unethical individuals, organizations, and underground enterprises smuggling billions of dollars worth of luxury cars to our shores," he said.
According to CIIS Director Verne Enciso, these cars were found at the Auto Vault Speed Shop on Levi Mariano Avenue in Ususan Village, where they presented a Letter of Authority (LOA) to the shop owner or representative.
"They have a variety of high-end luxury cars—some are truly top-end like McLaren, but they also have mid-range cars. It seems we have a market for these cars, so some enterprises and groups have realized the opportunity to profit from the interest generated by these cars," he said.
Enciso revealed that the team found two Ferrari 488s, two Mercedes-Benz C-Class, as well as a McLaren 720S, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Maserati Levante, Lamborghini Huracan, BMW M3, Dodge RAM, Ferrari 488, Ford Everest, Ford Mustang, GMC Yukon Denali, Honda Civic SIR, Honda S2000, BMW M2, Land Rover, Range Rover Autobiography, Lexus LBX, Lexus LX570, BMW I4, Mazda Miata, Audi A1, Mercedes AMG SLK, Mercedes G Wagon Brabus, Mercedes G63, Mercedes GLE450, Mitsubishi Lancer, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Porsche 997 Carrera, Porsche 993 Turbo, Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Cayman, Porsche GT3, Porsche GT3 RS, Porsche GT3 Touring, Porsche Turbo, Toyota Seqouia, Toyota Corolla Cross, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, and Toyota Land Cruiser VX.R.
The warehouse owner, lessee, lessor, occupant, representative, or any responsible party has 15 days after receiving the LOA to submit the necessary documents proving that duties and taxes have been properly paid.
If they fail to provide the proper documents, they will face charges under Sections 1400 and 1401 of Republic Act 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Juvymax Uy added that the specific years, models, and other details of the smuggled motor vehicles will be determined by the designated customs inspectors in the final inventory conducted in the presence of witnesses from CIIS, the Enforcement and Security Service, the Philippine Coast Guard, village officials, and the warehouse owner.
This is the third time CIIS has conducted a surprise inspection of car shops selling luxury cars, with previous raids on February 13 in Parañaque City and Pasay City, and February 14 in Makati City.

Is this another POGO boss's car? Tajig warehouse discovers smuggled luxury cars worth 900 million pesos.

A car with complete taxes and procedures will definitely have no issues. Smuggled cars are not acceptable anywhere.
There are really many uncivilized and uneducated people here. In China, you can smuggle goods without paying taxes, right?
Making money by fighting crime is unheard of globally.

Discovering valuable assets is just like pogo; they can be confiscated and then bought from the government at a low price using one's own authority, only to be sold at a high price later.

It's the spinach boss's car again.
Heartache boss for a second

The Marcos government is blatantly robbing.
As long as it's a luxury car, it belongs to Pogo; others can't afford it.
