Dear netizens, I need help!
My passport will expire in 3 months, and I am currently in the Philippines with a valid visa. However, I heard that a passport needs to have at least 6 months of validity to be considered valid. I am not sure if I can return to my country directly under this circumstance, or if I need to apply for a travel document instead.
Does anyone have personal experience with having less than 6 months of passport validity and still being able to board a plane, exit, or enter a country? Please share your experiences and advice. Thank you!

Some airlines may require a passport valid for more than 6 months; it is recommended to confirm with the airline first.
Sure thing!
Just one day is fine.
No matter how many months are left on the passport
According to the embassy's announcement, as long as the passport is still valid, you can return to the country normally.
Some people can return to their country even when their passport has only one month of validity left, you with three months is completely fine.
The requirement of a 6-month validity period applies to foreigners entering the Philippines and does not affect your return to your home country.

You don't need to reapply for a travel document; your passport is still valid. Just buy a plane ticket to return to your country.

Six months before going abroad

Go back to the country directly
Please confirm with the airline in advance.

You can return to your home country directly; the "passport 6-month validity" restriction does not apply. This requirement mainly applies when entering other countries.
