On February 26, 2025, the Hua Mak Police Station in Thailand held a press conference to announce the successful dismantling of a large online gambling syndicate that was generating a monthly profit of 70 million Thai Baht. The operation was jointly led by Mr. Chaichana Dechadecho, Chairman of the Police Commission, Colonel Danprai Kaewwehal, Deputy Director of the Immigration Bureau, and Colonel Phorathavi Samwong, Police Inspector of Hua Mak Police Station. The police searched 8 locations, arrested 3 suspects, and seized assets nearly worth 300 million Thai Baht.
The syndicate operated several gambling websites, with a monthly turnover of 200 million Thai Baht and a net profit of about 70 million Thai Baht. The websites include:
- SHABU999
- MAMA5555
- SUSHI5555
- BACON
After a three-month intensive investigation, the Thai police traced the syndicate's financial flows and discovered that the gambling network was supported by Chinese funds, with two Chinese investors directly providing funds to the Thai crime leader for website operations and money laundering.
The police applied for arrest warrants from the criminal court and arrested 12 core members, including:
- 2 Chinese investors
- 3 Thai executives
- 7 website operators and account managers
Currently, 15 suspects (including 7 Thais, 2 Chinese, and 1 Malaysian) are still at large, and the police are further pursuing them.
During the law enforcement action, the police searched 8 involved locations and arrested 3 suspects, including:
- 1 female responsible for managing the gambling websites and "mule accounts" (money laundering accounts)
- 2 male suspects
The assets seized during the operation are valued at nearly 300 million Thai Baht, including:
✅ 3 luxury houses
✅ 2 townhouses (total value about 250 million Thai Baht)
✅ 2 cars and other assets (total value about 10 million Thai Baht)
Colonel Phorathavi Samwong of the Hua Mak Police Station stated that the gambling syndicate involved 27 suspects, with 12 already arrested and 15 still under investigation. The police are continuing to expand their investigation, pursuing the remaining fugitives, and tracing the financial flows and money laundering chains to completely destroy the criminal network.
The police emphasized that the Thai government is intensifying efforts to crack down on online gambling and illegal financial activities, and all involved individuals will face severe legal sanctions.
