Chiang Mai residents express concern over the "invasion" of Chinese gray production gangs!

According to media reports, residential projects in Chiang Mai, Thailand, are emerging like mushrooms after the rain, with many projects having Chinese buyers, and some even beginning to ask: "Will Chiang Mai become a Chinese grey village?"

In every residential project in Chiang Mai, especially in the Hang Dong and San Kamphaeng districts, there are Chinese people renting houses, with the number depending on the location and price. Local real estate professionals say that these residential projects, where Chinese people rent, are mainly concentrated near the city center, and they can even negotiate prices as long as they like the place.

As for the buyers, they purchase through agency companies or marry Thais, with the spouse being the buyer. It can be noted that some housing project advertisements are written in Chinese, targeting this group of customers. Additionally, it has been found that some of the Chinese renters or buyers are involved in online gambling or scams, part of China's grey industry. Last week, the police arrested several cases. Residents of Chiang Mai express their concerns about this issue, as it might drive up land prices due to the purchasing power of the Chinese.

For Chiang Mai, considered a second-tier city in Thailand, many locals are now voicing their concerns as more and more Chinese begin to settle there, with some housing projects even exclusively inhabited by Chinese.
