Cambodian police raid online gambling building, arresting 247 Chinese nationals

On March 8, the General Department of National Police of Cambodia reported that, in collaboration with the police of Mondulkiri Province, they raided the "Mekong 74" building in Sen Monorom city, uncovering an illegal cybercrime den and detaining 258 foreigners, including 247 Chinese nationals.

Additionally, the police arrested 9 Myanmar nationals, and one each from Malaysia and Vietnam.

During the operation, the police targeted 14 suspects accused of violently coercing others into labor, including 7 Chinese and 7 Myanmar nationals. These suspects are charged with forcing others to work through violent means.

A Chinese victim, coerced and brought along, was taken to the Mondulkiri Province police station for questioning to assist with the investigation.

The remaining 243 foreigners (239 Chinese, 2 Myanmar, 1 Malaysian, and 1 Vietnamese) were transferred to the General Department of Immigration of Cambodia.
