Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized on Tuesday that the government strictly followed legal procedures in the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, stating that the execution of the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant was "reasonable and compliant," and not related to personal grievances.
Marcos revealed that he received the relevant documents from the Minister of the Interior at 3 a.m. and made a decision after reviewing them overnight. At 6:30 a.m., he was informed that Interpol had officially issued a global arrest warrant for Duterte, and he then approved the arrest operation. "Everything went according to plan, with no additional interventions," he added.
In response to external doubts, Marcos clarified that the Philippine government did not actively cooperate with the ICC investigation, but acted upon the request of Interpol to execute the arrest warrant. He pointed out that although the Philippines has withdrawn from the ICC, the court still has jurisdiction over the case as the alleged incidents occurred while the Philippines was still a party to the Rome Statute.
Marcos also promised that the government would publicly release the official text of the arrest warrant at an appropriate time to ensure transparency, emphasizing that this action was purely a fulfillment of legal duties, without any political persecution.

Marcos: Received the arrest documents early! The arrest was completely procedural, with absolutely no personal grudges.

The Marcos family did this so blatantly, and once her daughter takes over, will you, little Ma, run off to the United States again?
Little Pony is just a fool.
Personal grudges escalated to claims about a case from 2017, hilarious.
Isn't playing POGO just messing with Lao Du's wallet?
Settling is settling, no need for so many excuses.
