Can 5 million bail out the arrested POGO employees? Philippine police arrest three Chinese nationals.

A Chinese citizen, in an attempt to rescue a friend detained for POGO activities, paid 5 million pesos but did not see the release of his friend and was instead asked for an additional 2.5 million pesos. Realizing the scam, he decided to report to the police, who then initiated an operation and successfully arrested three Chinese nationals involved.

On the evening of March 17, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police conducted a sting operation in a Chinese restaurant in Pasay City, successfully apprehending three suspects: He Changao, 36, Pang Yong Pin, 32, and Xiong Ming Wei, 33.

Liang Xiao Hu, the 34-year-old whistleblower, stated that his friend was arrested two months ago by Philippine authorities for suspected POGO activities. In an effort to rescue him, he approached He Changao, who claimed to have connections with PAOCC officials and promised to help release his friend. However, after paying 5 million pesos, He failed to fulfill his promise and demanded an additional 2.5 million pesos. Realizing he was deceived, Liang decided to report the case.

The police immediately launched a sting operation and successfully captured He on the spot. However, during the operation, Pang and Xiong, who were with He, attempted to obstruct the police, resulting in all three being arrested. Upon checking identities, police found multiple photos of Xiong in military uniform on his phone. Xiong admitted to having served in the military.

According to the police report, He is charged with fraud, while Pang and Xiong face charges of obstructing justice. Currently, all three suspects have been taken to the police station for further investigation and processing.
