Since January 2025, a crackdown on online fraud gangs within Myanmar has been underway. As of March 19th, over the course of just over a month, 7,363 foreigners have been detained. Of these, 4,885 individuals have already been deported back to their respective countries.
In just over a month, more than 7,000 foreigners have been detained in an online scam park.
