Myanmar arrests more illegal immigrants, 160 Chinese citizens detained.

According to Myanmar media reports, the Myanmar government is collaborating with international organizations and domestic forces to continuously combat crimes such as online gambling and fraud in border areas, and to strengthen the inspection of illegal immigrants.

In the latest round of actions, 160 Chinese nationals were arrested for illegal entry. Colonel Min Thu Kyaw, the Minister of Security and Border Affairs of Kayin State, personally supervised the transfer process to ensure that all procedures were compliantly advanced.

Since January 30, 2025, the Myanmar side has detained 8,202 foreign nationals for illegal entry, of which 5,147 have been repatriated through Thailand, and the remaining 3,055 will be transferred for processing in stages.

The Myanmar government emphasizes that it will continue to cooperate with neighboring countries and international organizations to crack down on cross-border cybercrime in accordance with the law.
