The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) of the Philippines conducted a raid from the evening of March 31 to the early morning of April 1 in the upscale residential area of Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City, arresting 12 Chinese nationals and seizing several firearms and vehicles.
The operation, which lasted from 10 PM on Monday to 6 AM the following morning, was carried out under a search warrant issued by Judge Liezel Aquitan of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court. The warrant targeted Xiong Guo, Min Zhiang, Liu Libing, Lei Zhang, and others residing in three properties in Ayala Alabang.
Details of the Raid
Accompanied by local community representatives, residential security personnel, and village guards, NBI agents searched the implicated residences and discovered firearms, ammunition, and suspicious vehicles at multiple locations.
213 Mango Street
Five firearms were seized, two of which had tampered serial numbers.
A large amount of ammunition and firearm accessories were found.
100 Dayap Street
Four firearms were seized, one hidden inside a Cadillac Escalade. Another was found with ammunition in a Toyota Grandia Elite. A bulletproof vest was discovered in a Toyota Alphard.
102 Dayap Street
One firearm and one tactical knife were seized.
Additionally, four vehicles were impounded for further verification as the owners could not provide the necessary documentation.
Investigation and Legal Proceedings
The Filipino drivers working for these Chinese nationals were taken for questioning and later handed over to their lawyers. The NBI is currently preparing to charge these 12 Chinese nationals with violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The case has attracted widespread attention, and law enforcement will continue to investigate the identities, backgrounds of the individuals involved, and the origins and intended uses of the firearms.
