Yesterday, I saw a rare reminder issued by the Chinese Embassy, along with the response from the government of the Philippines, and I couldn't help but speak out.
Everyone knows that the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines has always been "playing dead if possible." This time, if the anti-Chinese sentiment hadn't become so severe that it could no longer be ignored, it definitely wouldn't have spoken up. The fact that it issued a notice shows that things have really gotten out of control.
As for the "spokesperson" thrown out by the Philippine government, what she said was as meaningless as a fart. No one believes her, except for herself and those behind her playing politics.
Who would have thought that in just one year, the Philippines could deteriorate to this extent? There used to be talk about how POGO would return and how Chinese people are the lifeline of the Philippine economy. Looking back now, it's just a joke. The Philippines not only doesn't want you, but also wants to squeeze every last drop of blood from you.
The current situation is even harsher than you imagine. What you need to guard against is not just corrupt police or officials, but those you thought were "your own people." Some people who remain in this land are so desperate that they dare to do anything. They deceive you, trap you, extort you, even kidnap and kill you, just to scrape together some travel money or ransom for a chance to get out.
They are not bad, they are driven mad, turned into complete beasts by reality. If you still believe that "connections can protect you," "someone can pull you out," or "money can smooth things over," then you are really not far from disaster.
This is not alarmism, but a lesson learned at the cost of many lives. Now in the Philippines, what you can trust is not the system or your compatriots, but how vigilant you are.
Survival comes first, forget about the rest.
