Philippine prison van ambushed, Chinese prisoner abduction attempt thwarted, 6 arrested on the spot.

On April 7th (Monday) afternoon, a BJMP prison van was ambushed on the Cavite Expressway section, resulting in a Filipino prison officer being shot and injured.

According to the police report, at that time, the Chinese prisoner had just attended a hearing in Makati and was being escorted back to the Paranaque City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. During the journey, an attempt was made to stop the vehicle and kidnap the individual. A total of 6 people were arrested, including 4 Filipinos and 2 Chinese suspects.

The police stated that this was a premeditated rescue operation aimed at forcibly abducting the Chinese man. The case is still under further investigation.
