The Philippine government deported 84 Chinese nationals who had worked in various offshore gaming centers (POGOs) this Friday. This action is seen as another major move in the government's crackdown on the "underground" POGO industry. The deported individuals were from teams that had worked at raid sites in Danzhen Town of Danzhen Province, Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, Pasay City, and Parañaque City.
According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the operation was led by the agency, and the deportation procedures were carried out at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. An official from the commission, Cruz, stated that this deportation is just the beginning of a larger-scale plan. The government is preparing to gradually eliminate about 1,000 foreign employees involved in gambling, with about 200 already detained and more investigations and deportations to follow.
Industry insiders believe that this round of concentrated expulsion actions in the Philippines could become a turning point in the comprehensive regulation of POGO, or even in the complete elimination of the industry.

The Philippines begins a major crackdown! 84 Chinese gambling employees were deported overnight.
