China and Vietnam issue joint statement to strengthen cooperation in combating telecommunications fraud and cybercrime.

On April 15, 2025, China and Vietnam jointly issued a statement during President Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam, announcing that they will further strengthen cooperation in combating telecommunications fraud and cybercrime, and elevate bilateral security cooperation to a new level. Besides telecommunications fraud and online gambling, the two countries also plan to engage in higher-level law enforcement cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism, economic crime, human trafficking, and resisting "color revolutions," to jointly address the challenges posed by transnational crime. By establishing a robust cross-border law enforcement collaboration mechanism, China and Vietnam aim to ensure national security and social stability.
