April 22, 2015 Update: A Brief Study on the Philippine Local Lottery and Predictions for Its Peripheral Lottery Industry (Content-rich, click with caution)

Today, let's start with the topic of "peripheral lottery" and talk about the ecological structure and peripheral opportunity prediction of the local lottery in the Philippines.

The Philippine lottery is divided into three types: one is the jackpot type, including Lotto 6/42, 6/45, 6/49, 6/55, 6/58; one is fixed payout games, EZ2 (2D), swertres (3D); and one is other lotteries like 4D, 6D, STL (small town lottery). Specific lottery gameplay is not elaborated here due to limited space; currently, the most popular are the only two that draw three times a day, 3D and 2D, which shows that high-frequency lotteries are more popular.

From the known data, over the past ten years, the scale of the Philippine lottery industry has grown in line with its GDP growth curve, from 3.5 billion PESO in 2015 to 6.1 billion PESO in 2023, with per capita annual lottery spending growing from 7.56 USD to 9.79 USD. In comparison, the Chinese market is 39 USD and 62 USD respectively, with per capita spending power more than six times higher than in the Philippines. The government launched the E-LOTTO online sales channel in December 2022, with growth of only 7% the following year, compared to the annual growth rate of 4%-11% during non-pandemic periods. The data shows that its online channel does not help much with overall sales, as Filipinos still trust more in offline and proxy purchases, or even direct betting with peripheral bookmakers.

Although the government controls the board, the gameplay is regular, and online betting is available, the periphery is always rampant, mainly for two reasons:

Therefore, peripheral lotteries always have unlimited competitiveness.

In summary, with the mature network and payment infrastructure in the Philippines, peripheral online lottery sales have great potential. In the current situation of unlimited internal competition in slot machines, it can bring significant breakthroughs to operations.
