Philippine Angeles City: Korean man shot dead in the street, mayor gives police 72 hours to solve the case.

On April 20, 2025 (Sunday) afternoon, a sudden shooting occurred in Koreatown, Angeles City, Philippines, where a Korean man was shot dead in broad daylight near the BPI bank on Friendship Highway.

The police initially judged it to be a fatal robbery case. The incident happened around 1:50 PM, and the victim was taken to the hospital but unfortunately passed away.

This is the first case of a Korean being robbed and shot dead in the area, causing public outrage.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. expressed "extreme shock and anger" about the incident and has ordered:

"I demand the city police to solve the case within 72 hours, identify the murderer, and arrest him immediately."

The order has been given to Acting Police Chief Colonel Joselito Villarosa Jr., with instructions to "spare no expense and pursue the criminal vigorously," and to strengthen city security to ensure the safety of foreigners and residents.

The mayor emphasized: "We will not tolerate such violent cases being unresolved. Angeles City must be a place where both locals and foreigners can live safely."
