On April 23, Prime Minister Hun Manet and the visiting Thai Prime Minister Petongtan held formal talks in Phnom Penh, focusing on cooperation to combat transnational telecommunications fraud. They agreed to jointly eradicate fraud dens in the Cambodia-Thailand border area.
Upon arriving in Phnom Penh that morning, Petongtan immediately went to the Prime Minister's Office for talks with Hun Manet. After the meeting, the leaders of both countries held a joint press conference, announcing that they would further strengthen bilateral security and law enforcement cooperation.
Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that during the talks, both sides reached a consensus on enhancing intelligence sharing and jointly combating transnational crime, focusing on telecommunications fraud, the spread of false information, human trafficking, and the smuggling of illegal goods. Petongtan pointed out that Thailand and Cambodia will strengthen cooperation, especially in jointly eliminating fraud dens located in the border areas.
