I recently went through a very absurd job application process and decided to share it publicly, hoping to remind friends who are job hunting to be cautious in choosing employers.
I was initially excited to join OK BET, discussed salary for several rounds, and even completed a medical check-up at my own expense (PHP 3,500) as requested by HR (named Woody), who said, "It will be reimbursed upon joining." Then, I received the formal offer.
However, the day after the offer was issued, I was informed that my employment was canceled due to a failed background check.
What's more absurd is that they did not specify the reasons for the background check failure; they directly told me to absorb the cost of the medical check-up myself; they showed no apology for the fact that I had declined other job opportunities; and their handling was indifferent and perfunctory, showing no respect for people.
A senior HR friend of mine put it bluntly: "Issuing an offer before completing the background check and requiring a medical exam is fundamentally wrong."
This made me seriously question the overall system and hiring logic of OK BET:
Is it disorganized processes or hasty management? How can a HR manager treat candidates this way, and is such behavior condoned by the company culture? If even the HR isn't professional or empathetic, what about other departments?
I have no intention of malicious slander, just to speak a truth: the professionalism of a company can be seen in the way its HR handles matters. I'm also glad I didn't actually join, otherwise I would have suffered even longer.
For those of you job hunting: not every offer is worth your trust. Failing a background check is not shameful, but being ignored and exploited is truly unacceptable.

Your own problem is very serious.
After joining the company, the reimbursement will be processed, which I think was clearly stated by the other party.
You're so exposed, who would dare to interview you in the future?

This money must be embezzled by oneself.
Everyone is unprofessional, you have to be more professional.
You knowingly accepted the wrong process, isn't that just an endorsement of this practice?
Is this not a formal large company?
Your background check has issues; can you still continue to use it or what?
Everything needs to be posted

Recently, there have been quite a few stories about OKBET.
It's a bit absurd.
To put it bluntly, you have bigger problems yourself.
