The Philippine Bureau of Immigration announced yesterday that a group of foreigners were detained for failing to provide legal travel documents and work permits, most of whom are Chinese citizens. Officials noted that although some of the detainees held valid visas, these visas were not applied for by their current employers, which is suspected to be a violation of immigration regulations.
Bureau Director Norman Tansingco emphasized that foreigners working in the Philippines must strictly comply with relevant legal provisions. He stressed, "Any foreigner who uses a false identity, illegally changes employers, or works without a permit will face legal consequences."
Tansingco also warned that the Bureau will take serious actions against any activities that threaten national security or abuse the immigration system. He stated, "We have zero tolerance for illegal foreign workers and will take punitive measures such as deportation when necessary."
This enforcement action was carried out by the Bureau in collaboration with the Southern Police District of the National Capital Region, as part of an ongoing campaign against illegal foreign workers in the Greater Manila area. All individuals involved have been taken to the immigration detention center in Taguig City, awaiting further deportation proceedings.
The Bureau urges all foreigners in the Philippines to regularly update their documents to avoid violating immigration policies.

Do you really want to eradicate them completely?
It's about the Chinese again.
Do your nationals have the capability? Yet you don't provide foreigners with smooth job opportunities.
