Thai media, citing sources, reported that a Chinese police task force consisting of 11 members has entered the Myawaddy area of Myanmar to negotiate on combating and rescuing matters.
According to Thai media, this Chinese police task force, affiliated with China's Ministry of Public Security, arrived in Mae Sot from Bangkok last Sunday evening and then proceeded to Myawaddy.
Sources stated that the Chinese police task force will discuss with Myanmar officials how to assist Chinese victims at the Myawaddy scam center and will urge the Myanmar authorities to take strong actions against scammers still active in the border area.
