Vietnam has lifted a nearly half-century ban, allowing its citizens to enter casinos for the first time, a policy shift driven by billions of dollars in capital outflow each year and a difficult-to-regulate underground gambling market.
Recently, Vietnam's Quang Ninh province has officially approved the Sun Group to build a comprehensive resort project in the Yuntun Economic Zone with a total investment of over 2 billion US dollars. The most notable aspect of this plan is that Vietnamese citizens will be allowed to enter the casino to participate in gambling under strict regulation, marking a significant shift in Vietnam's gambling policy.
It is reported that this new gambling project means that Vietnamese citizens will once again have the opportunity to gamble legally within the country. The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance has suggested implementing a fee-based entry system, with a daily ticket price of about 100 US dollars or a monthly ticket for 2000 US dollars.
Vietnam unprecedentedly approves a $2 billion casino project, open to local residents for the first time!
