When I first arrived at Sihanoukville, Cambodia, in early 2019, the impression was completely different. Back then, although there were minor incidents like phone snatching by motorcycle gangs, the overall atmosphere was still relatively safe. The streets were filled with Chinese people, and everyone could still go out to eat and drink without worry. Vietnam Street was brightly lit all night long, and as long as you didn't venture too far off the beaten path, life was vibrant.
However, the scene in Sihanoukville has drastically changed today. The Chinese faces on the streets are becoming fewer, and just yesterday, I saw a news report about another shooting, which left me with mixed feelings. Reflecting on the past, those of us involved in the grey market here had, to some extent, our own moral boundaries. Although the money wasn't earned in the most honorable way, it was at least scraped together through our own efforts.
In contrast, nowadays, some people have abandoned even the most basic principles of humanity for money. They resort to kidnapping, fabricate various reasons to deceive people, and then extort money from them. Such behavior is no longer just "grey" as it was before; it has completely slid into darkness.
In conclusion, I would like to say, always leave room for redemption, as justice is clear, and while man acts, heaven watches.
2019's Xigang VS 2025's Xigang

Do not offend others; kidnappers in Xigang do not kidnap nobodies.
The Philippines is such a great place where even losers can get several Filipino girlfriends in a week. Back home, you'd pay a dowry of 300,000 to marry a divorced woman with children. But due to various kidnappings, now that little Marcos has come to power, nobody goes there anymore.
Most kidnappings involve people with grudges.
It's all caused by the thugs in the casino.

Are you silly? Talking about conscience, benevolence, and morality with a kidnapper.
Don't offend others, keep a low profile, and there will be fewer troubles.
How come you don't mention the Philippines in 2019?
The Philippines in 2019 is no longer what it used to be.
Kidnappers even care about these things for you.
The Philippines used to be very innocent.
People who dare to kidnap are no longer afraid of gods or ghosts; they only have one thought: to make money.
Typical bad money drives out good money.
