Cutting off the links of electronic wallets to gambling websites essentially represents the government's overall stance on the future of gambling.
Currently, the performance of locally licensed gambling companies in the Philippines has dropped by over 80%. This is not alarmist talk but a fact supported by data. Out of the total 60 licenses, more than 20 companies rely on GLIFE for survival, and GCASH generates hundreds of millions monthly from gambling companies. This abrupt cut-off indicates that the protective umbrella behind them has lost power, or even switched sides.
The political factions clearly believe that the money harvested from PIGO is sufficient, and they are now planning to abandon PIGO.
The series of actions that followed clearly demonstrate their stance, such as setting the minimum first deposit amount to over 500P, raising the age limit, and requiring wallets to set a transfer limit to gambling sites, all aimed at tightening the living space of licensed companies.
However, they also appear somewhat helpless against illegal gambling sites, currently just messing around, in a disorganized and reckless manner, trying to patch things up for the public and Catholics by adopting a self-cutting approach.
PIGO operators should be wary.

I'll talk about my pessimistic feelings towards the future of the Philippines' PIGO.

On the surface, it is to protect the public, but in reality, it is a political game.
