The Philippine police recently launched a large-scale crackdown in the Northern Mindanao region. From August 1 to September 2, the police arrested 83 individuals involved in gambling, including 41 in Surigao del Norte, 32 in Agusan del Sur, and 5 each in the Dinagat Islands and Butuan City, with a total of 30,510 pesos in gambling funds seized on the spot. The suspects are now undergoing legal proceedings.
PRO-13 Director Marcio Mariano IV emphasized that this operation targets illegal gambling and related crimes, and issued a clear warning: the Chinese community must stay away from underground gambling, otherwise they will face legal consequences.
Meanwhile, in August, the Northern Mindanao police also confiscated drugs worth 22.8 million pesos, arrested 286 people, and achieved a "drug-free" status in 256 villages. This indicates that the authorities are intensifying efforts to tackle both gambling and drug issues simultaneously.
Chinese citizens, take note! The Philippine police have conducted a large-scale gambling crackdown, resulting in numerous arrests.
