Philippine President Marcos: The People Should Not Suffer Like This

In the trailer for the latest episode of his podcast, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. spoke emotionally about social corruption and illegal activities, even choking up several times. He expressed deep sorrow seeing many people struggling in life:

"People are just working hard, taking care of their families, they are not bad people. Why should they suffer such punishment? Just for others to profit? I really cannot understand."

Currently, the Philippine government is conducting thorough investigations into public works projects, particularly focusing on flood control projects. Preliminary findings suggest that some projects may involve false reporting or regulatory violations. In response, the President has ordered a comprehensive review of the public works and highways department's 2026 budget to eliminate duplicate claims or unauthorized expenditures.

Marcos Jr.'s statements have drawn widespread attention.
