To serve gaming practitioners at home and abroad, the Philippine Gaming Regulatory Corporation (PAGCOR) plans to open a gaming academy in the Philippines and collaborate with gaming education providers in Asia. It was discussed at a gathering in Macau that an agreement could be signed as early as November, possibly in South Korea.
Dr. Angelito Domingo, PAGCOR Group Vice President for Human Resources and Development, stressed that the academy is part of PAGCOR’s overall transformation. Six thousand employees will have more choices thanks to the privatization of Casino Filipino.
Domingo said: “We want to continue to cultivate talents,” emphasizing the need for transformation and mentioning Japan’s gaming school model.
Senior Vice President Daniel Cecilio supported the establishment of the Academy and highlighted its advantages in the context of the changing gaming environment and PAGCOR regulatory changes, increasing professionalism in the industry and contributing to government gaming revenue.
