U.S. gaming operator Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has appointed Kurt Shotzberger as vice president of financial planning and analysis, according to a press release issued Thursday.
Mr. Shotzberger's new responsibilities include forecasting, financial modeling, financial and operational analysis, budgeting and strategic planning. His work will help shape Mohegan's economic future, ensuring sustainability and success in all aspects of the organization, according to the release.
Mohegan Sun owns an online gambling platform and provides online casino and sports betting services generally under the brand name Mohegan Sun Online.
These online services are legal in certain states, such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and allow players to participate in casino games, poker, and sports betting over the internet.
Mohegan President and CEO Ray Pineault is confident in the hiring of Mr. Shotzberger, noting that his extensive expertise in gaming and finance will bring a unique perspective and valuable talent to the company.
Mr. Shotzberger has worked in the gaming industry for 15 years and brings more than 20 years of financial experience to his new role. He is a vice president in the gaming and hospitality investment banking division of Wachovia Securities and previously held senior management positions at gaming industry provider IGT.
Earlier this month, Mohegan said net sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 were $18.6 million, up 4.6% from the same period last year. The company's chief financial officer Carol Anderson said the main drivers of this growth were the continued growth of Mohegan Digital and non-gaming revenue from Mohegan Inspire.
