ACMA requires Australian Internet Service Providers (ISP) to block more illegal gambling websites violating the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
The recently blocked sites include Richard Casino and Wanted Win; these websites were found either providing prohibited interactive gambling services to Australian customers and unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services.
Alternatively, they were discovered advertising prohibited interactive gambling services or unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services in Australia.
The latest ACMA ban targeted Hubbl's sports streaming service Kayo, due to the company broadcasting gambling ads during live sports events outside the permitted time slots.
Out of 267 live sports events broadcast between 5 AM and 8:30 PM, 16 different gambling ads were found, which are not allowed during these hours.
Since its establishment, ACMA has blocked up to 1,011 illegal gambling and affiliate websites. The blocked sites include Jogi Casino, Dundee Slots, Lucky Hunter, Lucky Wins, Lukki Casino, Spin Fever, Clubhouse Casino, and Winport Casino. A Big Candy, Jackpoty, and John Vegas Casino are also included.
The organization has severely cracked down on illegal betting activities during the 2023 Women's World Cup, issuing multiple warnings to operators found violating any part of the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
This includes Mad Entertainment (Golden Lion), Paloma Media (Thunderpick), and Dama and Friolion (Betibet).
