The Commonwealth Casino Commission stated that House Bill No. 23-90 would lead to a situation similar to that in the Philippines.

Northern Mariana Islands - The chairman of the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC), Edward C. DeLeon Guerrero, called for stricter regulations on internet gambling in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). He pointed out that the Philippines had banned offshore gaming operators amid allegations of human trafficking against Chinese operators.

In December last year, Representative Ralph N. Yumul introduced House Bill No. 23-90, aimed at allowing online gambling in the CNMI. Deleon Guerrero stated that the CCC would propose amendments to add more restrictions.

According to Mariana's Variety, the current draft stipulates that all electronic table games must comply with international standards set by Global Gaming Laboratories International or SIQ Gaming Laboratories.
