Penn Entertainment acquired Wynn's license.
UNITED STATES - WynnBet has agreed to sell its New York mobile sports betting license to Penn Entertainment, later stopping accepting bets in New York. Penn will launch ESPN Bet in the state.
Wynn's website has been updated to include New York as one of 10 jurisdictions where its platform has ceased operations, along with Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia States and Massachusetts (mobile only). WynnBet sportsbook users will be able to access their accounts and make withdrawals until August 29. The company launches in New York in 2022.
ESPN Bet launches in 17 U.S. states in November 2023, replacing Penn Entertainment’s previous sports betting platform.
Caesars Entertainment Completes Acquisition of WynnBet’s Michigan Online Gaming Business
In June, Caesars Entertainment announced the completion of a previously announced deal to acquire WynnBet's Michigan online gaming operations and a long-term agreement with the Salt St. Mary Chippewa Indian Tribe to expand access to the online gaming market.
The company said it will announce the transition of the new online casino brand and WynnBet operations in the second half of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. It will continue to operate its existing platform under the WynnBet brand, with no disruption to the customer experience expected.
