The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has prohibited MRSL NV from offering games to Swedish players without the necessary license.
The regulatory body explained in a statement: "We prioritize measures that facilitate gambling with operators who hold a Swedish gambling license."
MRSL NV has been banned from operating in Sweden for violating Swedish regulations, including an increasing number of operators such as Equinox Dynamic, Alpha Interactive Solutions, and Nero Media.
The Swedish Gambling Authority also listed a series of revoked bans, including companies such as Rebels Gaming and Gammix Limited. Notably, Gammix Limited was fined nearly 19.7 million euros ($21.3 million) by the Danish Gambling Authority (KSA) in March for offering unlicensed games, to which Gammix Limited director Phil Pearson remarked, "It's a joke."
Last week, Spelinspektionen joined the Sports Integrity Lottery Association (ULIS) as an associate member. The agency's head, Ms. Rosenberg, stated: "By collaborating with ULIS, we are enhancing our ability to monitor and address issues of competition manipulation both in our country and nationally."
In other parts of Europe, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) last month revoked Tipbet's authorization to conduct gambling operations in the country. Consequently, Tipbet can no longer accept new players, must return all funds to existing players as per the Gambling Act (Chapter 583 of Maltese Law), and must allow MGA to extract and replicate necessary regulatory data as per the Gambling Definitions Regulations (SL 583.04).
