IGT has appointed Nick Khin as president of global gaming. Khin has been with the company for more than a decade and previously served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of IGT Gaming.
Khin began his career as a director of NCR in 1992 and worked at the company until 2001. He entered the gaming industry in February 2002, joining Aristocrat as Managing Director and General Manager, a position he held until his promotion in August 2008. He was named president and CEO of the provider until June 2012, serving just under four years. During this time, he also served as a director on the American Gaming Association's Board of Directors from December 2008 to June 2012.
Khin joins IGT after ten years at Aristocrat, where he served as senior vice president and head of corporate strategy/mergers and acquisitions from July 2013 to March 2015. He was subsequently appointed as the company's chief operating officer and subsequently chief executive officer, which he will assume immediately.
Commenting on the appointment, IGT CEO Vince Sadusky said: "Nick is the perfect person to lead IGT Global Gaming. Under his leadership, IGT has continued to launch top-tier games and strengthened its performance in every gaming category.
"Nick's knowledge, leadership and passion have earned him the respect of his colleagues across the industry."
IGT recently expanded its sports betting operations in Nevada and Colorado through a technology and services partnership with Monarch Casino & Resort. IGT will provide its PlaySports platform and transaction advisory services to the operator, impacting retail and mobile sports betting.
The company also recently reported second-quarter results, with revenue up 1% to $1.05 billion; the company was recently acquired (and taken private) by Apollo Global Management.
