Leading iGaming software provider Softswiss continues its efforts to provide aid to flood-affected areas in Brazil.
The supplier, which began its emergency aid charity after flooding hit the country in May, has now shifted its focus to longer-term projects to provide clean water equipment to affected areas. This is because, although water levels have now receded, clean water and hygiene supplies remain difficult to obtain.
Softswiss' project aims to provide clean water to two schools and is done in partnership with PW Tech. The two schools are the Rui Barbosa Municipal Elementary School in Nova Santa Rita and the Machado de Assis Municipal Elementary School in Rolante, 25 and 135 kilometers respectively from Porto Alegre.
The clean water facilities are expected to help 100 students and staff at the two schools, as well as 300 families in the surrounding area.
With support from Rubens Barrichello, Softswiss and PW Tech have begun installing the water purification system, including obtaining local government approvals and conducting water quality analyses. In addition to providing clean water, schools will begin educating students, teachers and the community about the importance of clean water.
Barrichello, non-executive director of Softswiss Latin America, said: "When we launched this charity project, I was convinced that it should not be just a one-time financial aid. The immediate crisis has passed and first aid has been provided, but people have to deal with all the eco-social consequences .
“I am delighted that the company shares my beliefs and is committed to a serious, long-term approach. Softswiss has a long-standing presence in Brazil with dedicated employees and we are ready to do whatever it takes to support the local community and contribute to its development contribute."
