B2B service provider Oddsgate has obtained certification from the National Gambling Office (ONJN) allowing operations in the Romanian market, thus initiating its latest expansion plan.
Oddsgate's entry into the Romanian market indicates its long-term interest in the country, with the capital Bucharest identified as a potential location for its new office.
Today, the company has taken its first step into this market, hoping to tap into the potential of this emerging market.
Óscar Madureira, responsible for legal and compliance affairs at Oddgate, commented on this development: "Although Oddsgate is a B2B service provider and thus does not have a direct relationship with players and bettors, protecting the data of users on our client-operated platforms and promoting responsible gaming there is our primary mission."
"We recognize the importance of ensuring the safety and health of platform users while actively seeking to promote a positive and healthy gaming experience."
Oddsgate's headquarters is in Lisbon, and it also operates in Brazil, India, and South Africa—the company hopes this new license will allow it to further expand its influence in the EU market.
In 2017, Romania's ONJN awarded a Level 2 license to EveryMatrix. Recently, 3 Oaks Gaming also announced its expansion plans in the Romanian market, positioning Romania as its strategic center for Eastern European operations.
